We welcome June of 2020 with hope and expectations that the world will kind of settle down!

TERRY
I kind of failed Terry yesterday.  After she called late AM and said she was ready to move to rehab I did not talk to her again.  I did call twice and her phone went to voice mail which is full!  I will get the number of the floor station today and call them.  At this time I am assuming she arrived at rehab and is settled into her room.  I hope and pray that she is UP for the challenge as she has a LONG rehab road ahead of her.  Lord give her strength and endurance for the journey ahead.

Onions, radishes and beans but no carrots yet!

Here are the Monday pictures of the garden.  I did get the west plot planted a few days ago as neighbor Bill gave me several plants.  The fence is supposed to keep creatures out of the bed.  In past years there has been a cat that has tried to claim the garden beds for a litter box, not good!  If one can see a green hue it is grass clippings.  I googled the subject and it said that was a good idea as long as a person did not spread the grass clippings too thick.

Here is Dad, oldest, and Uncle Halvor in 1914
I would say pretty fancy looking!  I think it was pretty common then to have boys with long hair and girl like clothes.

Here I am with one of my two favorite sisters!  1948 so I was 1 and Joan was 6!

Helen and I playing with Tinker Toys.  Along with Lincoln Logs and Dave's erector set those were our most "store bought" toys we played with.  Of course there were the empty rifle shells, the card games, the chalk on the slate and other things as well.  Looks like Helen has shoes on that maybe have seen better days!  Those darn bib overalls, I hated them because Dad did not wear them.  It was a great day when I got REAL pants with a belt.
I do not have a lot on the agenda today.  I will get the number of Terry's floor and then try to call her.  I already watered the garden so that is done.  I may just make Monday the day I spray a gallon of weed killer on the lawn.  I spot spray as there are weeds but not that many.  I really want to rid the lawn of creeping charlie and clover.  I will try to do it under cover as three doors down they WANT clover for those darn bunnies and I would like to ****** the bunnies!

I kind of scanned the papers today as one can get pretty tired of reading about Floyd.  I do not intend to come across as saying that is not important but I just don't have the interest to read page after page after page.  It even permeates the sports pages.  I will take a bike ride to see if some of the stores are open yet or if they are still closed.  Also I need a haircut in the worst way and I think shops can be open today.  I will see.  If I go much longer like this I can tie my hair in the back like some guys do and that would kind of hide the spot where NO hair goes anymore!  Maybe I should go back to days of the past when some guys thought it was "in" to do a comb over!

The warm weather is on the way.  We started off today with a cool low 60s but by late PM it is supposed to be upper 80s.  Travis helped me get the AC unit out of the garage without backing the car out.  That was a good thing as the car has about 3" on each side as one goes in or comes out which means the driver had better have a stead hand to avoid scratches on the new car!  I got the unit in the living room window and it is ready to go.  May not need it until tomorrow when it is supposed to get up to 93 BUT then after that we are looking at 8 days in the 70s or 80s.  I am anticipating that the garden will take off this week.

In my desire to be the "well rounded guy" I have kind of taken up baking.  When I use the term "well rounded" I am NOT talking about weight around the middle.  I saw the recipe from Double Tree Hotels as they have free cookies when you stay.  I thought it may be cheaper to make the cookies than to check into the Double Tree!!!  I brought a pan of them over to the Adkins yesterday and baked the rest of the dough this morning.  The Adkins kids said they were good so I got another "A"!  But as I often say I can fool a lot of people a lot of the time!

Enough for today.  Got to try and talk to Terry and then MAYBE get some work done around here.  I wanted coffee when I got up so did ONE pod and by the time that was gone the FP was ready.  Oh my it was so good BUT I drank it all and now what do I drink with these cookies?  Ah, there is cold milk in the fridge so I am good to go!  Just so you know these cookies have white sugar, brown sugar, walnuts and chocolate chips.  Should be good for the "round" feeling, right?
