Four hours later

I did spent about 4 hours with Terry today.  Some points:

• She is very very weak
• It looks like whenever she comes home it will be in a wheelchair
• Her right hand is weaker than her left hand and that is why she needs help when eating
• She has someone in the room all the time in addition to her nurse, OT, PT and speech!
• I am GUESSING she may be in acute rehab for several more days and then will go to a transitional place for a time.  BUT I do not know that, it is only what I think.  I think they would like to see her in a transitional place until I could care for her at home.
• She did get the feeding tube out of her nose and that was good.  Now she has to be able to eat enough and that may be a challenge.
• That kind of tells the story.  Terry will be a LONG time getting better BUT I think she will come back strong.
