As I promised, Terry first
I received a call from the nurse yesterday early afternoon. He said they were in the process of getting Terry ready to be moved to rehab. Her third test had come back negative and her lumbar tap had not shown any thing wrong. I refrained from calling the rest of the day as I did not want to bother her or interfere with what was going on. About 9:45 last night she called. I had already decided I would not hear until morning so I was taking my last swim in the pool and did not get the call. I was surprised when I looked at my phone and I did call her right back. She sounded like a NEW person. Granted, she is not any better than yesterday morning BUT just getting off the covid-19 floor and into a new place was like a new beginning. We feel that NOW they will focus on getting her better and on her way home. We still have NO idea why she is in the state she is in but perhaps we will never know. It looks like there will be intense rehab daily and her stay of course will depend on progress but we could be looking at something as short as 12 days or something as long as 20 days. I guess they have told Terry 20 but the nurse said something a bit different. We are now on day 17 and we could be looking at another 20 BUT still the future looks so so so much better. I perhaps will not be updating everyday now but will only mention as she hits milestones in her recovery. a million thanks for your thoughts and prayers.
I love this picture. I THINK I am in the middle with bib overalls on but not sure. It had to be taken somewhere between 1953-1956. I see where one of the girls has a cup but I am guessing most of us, maybe the boys, just used our hands. You can see the outhouses in the back, that is great. One for the girls and one for the boys. I remember wanting to use the outhouse during school because they had toilet paper and of course at home we had the catalogs! I wish I had a picture of what one would see to the right of this picture. You would see high swings, a merry-go-round and the teeter totters. On the opposite side of the school was our ball field. I am guessing the bell has rung and we are about to go in for classes.
Not much else to say or do. I am guessing there is a short swim, a bike ride and then IF I can muster up the energy I may use the machine to scrub the kitchen floor. I know that would make Terry happy when she comes home.
No breakfast this morning, only FP and that will do until noon.
