It's happening!!!

 TERRY

Terry has an appointment to get her covid shot this morning at 10:30.  I have had mixed feelings about her getting a shot with her GBS but have read extensively and have come to the conclusion that it is an OK thing to do.  There have been some concerns about GBS people getting the JNJ shot but Terry will be getting the Moderna shot which means she will need to get a second shot as well.  That perhaps will be a month out.

Well there may be no tennis today as Rusty has an arm issue and can not play.  SO the tennis continues to be kind of a downhill journey as that means playing once in the last week.  At my advanced age playing once is NOT enough to warn off rust!!!

So it means nothing planned other than taking Terry in for her shot.  I do have much I can do around here so there will be No excuse for not keeping busy.  I actually have the kitchen clean this morning so no work there.  Maybe I will just slowly sip my FP and watch some of the games on TV.

I am finding that we can get along pretty well without Sonia as she has now been gone for 5 weeks and will not be back for another 4 at least.  I also cancelled the three meals for this week as well as last week.  I am finding that I can fix food that Terry likes and I am sure it is way cheaper than the meals that come in the mail BUT making one recipe of something is always too much food so a problem there.  I tried one recipe by cutting everything in half and it did not work out very well.  Well I talk about food as if it is a problem and it kind of is but "for sure" it is the least of my problems at this time so will not complain.

Somebody asked me yesterday day how I am doing.  My answer was "OK" and I meant it.  But I would say that as time goes on things wear on a person and I am guessing in the end one could be worn out so to speak.  I think it is not even the everyday things that one needs to do but rather it is the unknown.  I find myself often full of questions that have no answers.  I have now perfected the "What if?" phrase.  And as one would expect that can go on forever with NO answers so I always fall back on my "one day at a time" and live life as if everything will work out for the best.

I have thought about putting out a "all call" to see if people would send cards too Terry.  She so enjoys it when she gets a card from someone.  But I think I will hold off on that for now.  I am mostly amazed that she is usually in such good spirits given what she is dealing with.  I think that is a gift from the Lord for her but also for me!

Here is Aunt May, Uncle Philip and daughter Joleen

I do not remember when this was.  Philip and Maye lived in St. Paul actually pretty near the state fair grounds.  Actually their address may have been New Brighten which is on the north side of St. Paul.  Philip worked or Northrup King Seed company and Maye worked at the U of MN.  They had a large lot and many shrubs and trees.  At least once we stayed with them when we visited the state fair.  They treated us to a meal at a pancake house and at the age of 9 or so all those different syrups was super!  I do not know the details but they both retired about the same time and I think they purchased a motor home to travel but sadly both died a short time after retirement.  Philip was Mom's brother.

For me it always was a treat and fun time to go to the MN state fair as we would stay with Olaf/Mable or Philip/May.  Both were special people and of course the state fair was super fun.  It was only at the fair that we would enjoy eating out all day!!!

Well it is kind of time to see IF there will be any tennis.  I will dress and go over there but it may be a NO show kind of tennis day.  I think I will sip the last of the FP and see what is next.  I did print out Terry's 10:30 appointment so will be sure to do that.
