Terry
There is really nothing new today. As one could suspect there often is not so much happening on the weekends. I did drive over to see Terry twice yesterday. She is at a place where she is tired of her surroundings and of course nobody would blame her. I have high hopes that we can make something happen towards a positive end for getting her to MN and then to the U of MN hospital so that the Dr can find what is happening with her health. For those who read this please hold Terry in your prayers this week that we may see the beginning of finding out her puzzling health. More tomorrow.
One would probably know that for me it is nothing new either. I have hopes of talking to her doctor today and if that happens I hope it gets us closer to moving her to MN. Each day I think and hope but it seems that things do not happen in MY time. On to a few happy memories of the past.
This was taken in Lassen National Park in northern CA. As we pulled into the park they were sweeping the parking lot and road to the campsites. That tells a lot about what kind of place it was. It became one of our favorites and this picture kind of tells what it is like, beautiful. My all time favorite photo was taken in this park BUT I can not find it among my 50,000+ photos on the computer😠.
This shows how large the General Sherman tree is that stands in Sequioia National Park in CA. I think the sign read that if cut down it could provide wood for 300 houses!
As we drove through Death Valley National Park the temp gauge in our car reached 119! If you ever wondered why the product Twenty Mule Team Borax had a name like that here is your answer! Seems to me there was not a lot of thought that went into naming it! It was also right outside of the park that we visited a micro-brewery that had beer at 15%. Don't think you would want to touch that stuff!
The couple is Ruth and Lester Gregerson. They farmed near Webster SD and then later Ruth moved to CA. Ruth and my mom had a special relationship. When Mom was still living with her parents on the farm Ruth, daughter of Ansel, stayed with her for some time. Terry and I, on a whim, stopped in Visalia CA which is near some of the national parks. I did not have a phone # so we just stopped and surprised her. She was so happy we did. I may not have the spelling and name perfect but I think the cute little girls are Gwen and Erlene and they had a brother Sam. That was Ruth and Lester's children. Sam was a very gifted woodworker and if my memory serves me he died a couple of years ago. Ruth died a short time time ago at the age of 100. Also Ruth was the flower girl in Mom and Dad's wedding.
So here ends another day of writing. I made too much food this morning and could only eat half of it. So now I need to decide to save or to through. Mom thought throwing good food was the worse so guess what I will do? The FP was only ok today and that could be because I have a lot on my mind and just could not enjoy the moment.
Today I add that I am VERY thankful for typing class in HS! I think I got a B+ as for me those darn A grades were just hard to come by.
I'll pray you get some answers this week and possibly headways in getting Terry back to MN. This has been drawn out enough. Some peace of mind would be welcome I'm sure. Thinking about you and hoping for success. Love, Helen
