Terry
Here we are Tuesday, May 5th and we are no closer, that I know of, to any progress for Terry. I called yesterday and asked for a call from the Dr. but it never came. This waiting game is getting a bit old to say the least. Then I called the nurse station about 5 PM and talked to a nurse. I will NOT repeat any of our conversation but it was not good and I was about ready to drive over there and ???. I did go over about 7:00 PM to say good night to Terry. She was kind of in an OK place but still part of our conversation was not real. I will be trying to get the case manager on the phone this morning.
And so one could guess that the beat goes on with little happening with me. I did take everything in from around the pool as WHEN things happen they may happen quickly. Maybe I said it before but my plan is to fly with Terry to the Twin Cities and then after things get in place make a quick trip down here to get the car and things. We usually bring a car load of things back and forth.
Before the day starts in a real way some pictures and memories as they, at this point, kind of keep me going.
I probably should not share this as I kind of took someone's idea and copied it. Terry and I saw these grill scrapers at the state fair and they looked like a nice gift. At $24.95 we were not buying but over the next days I make several to give to family. The quarter in the handle tells me I did that in 2012! This is one I made for Terry out of walnut and as you can see she decided not to use it. I was a fun project but I have no idea if anyone ever used them.
This was taken some place in southern Minnesota. Terry and I went on a two week camping trip hitting Minnesota State Parks. Over 3 years we visited them all. We visited the last one in 2014. We thought this was a cute little building. I have no idea if it was used. I suspect there used to be a church there and this is now used just as a place to stop and pray but I do not know. We thought it was worth a picture.
I had this blown up and mounted it behind one of the multipane windows that we took out of the Niles Ave house. It is on the living room wall. I do believe it is a trout stream. |
Beaver Creek Valley State Park is in very corner of southeastern Minnesota. It is truely a beautiful place to camp. We drove through a shallow stream to get to our site. As we set up camp the top picture was our back yard. There was a log bench to sit and enjoy the peacefulness. Well the story is there was some sort of misunderstanding (probably me) and we had some things to talk about. As we sat and had our conversation dusk set in the the fireflies came out to greet us. I caught one and held it in my hand as we "made up" and all was good. To this day I like fireflies!!! The end of the story is our little misunderstanding was not a major thing but it still had to be talked through and the camp grounds were just a wonderful place to do that. In the end it was one of our favorite camping spots in all the parks. It is fun to think back and remember that we were able to visit ALL of the state parks and camp in many of them. For Minnesotians our parks are a wonderful treasure.
I still am not used to this new things with cars. I still go to the car with thet key (fob) in my hand and of course you just need to have it in your pocket. I had a situation yesterday that took me a few minutes to figure out. I stopped at the desk where Terry is to drop off something. When I came out and got into the car each time I put it in drive it went to "P" right away. So there I sit not being able to go. I tried putting it in "D", in "N", in "R" and nothing worked. after putting it in different gears I would press "D" and it would go into "P" with no explaining! Well I am pretty sure no care can explain but still it just went to "P". Well finally as I stared ahead in disbelief I saw the little light on that showed my door was not closed all the way. Presto things worked after I closed the door! On the way to the rehab center I almost got a scare. I was driving with very little traffic and all of a sudden a car came from my right, crossed pretty close in front of me and then went into the lane to my left. As the car crossed in front of me a large orange light lite up on the dash saying BREAK. That will get one's attention!

So ends another day of writing and now it is on to that darn phone which I have been spending a lot of time on. MAYBE today I will have success. I do need to get a letter off to a grandchild this morning. I have been able to keep up the two each week. I do believe today it goes to Agatha who just had a birthday yesterday. Darn, I missed her present so had to send a note saying it is coming late. I will say that I missed the gift because I just have had too much on my mind. I refuse to blame it on old age!
As the day starts I have a hard time getting Bill Haring out of my mind. Another Cayuga kid that died the day after his 68th birthday, way too young. Brings to mind several Cayuga kids that, in my mind, did not really get to enjoy old age and actually it makes me wonder if there were something in the Cayuga environment.
No breakfast today, only FP coffee.
