TERRY
I am not sure what Terry would tell you if you talked to her BUT my take is that she is slowly getting stronger. It seems that she can better get from the wheelchair to the bed or the couch. When we get into the car it is difficult as the car seat is so high but she did a great job of grabbing the handle and hoisting herself up as I also lifted. She is still on 17 oz of fluid a night and that goes over 10 hours. I would say she has eaten a bit more over the last couple of days. Enough, no but more is a good thing. As I say, "one day at a time".
I am guessing by the time Terry is well again I will know half the medical people in Naples on a first name bases! Yesterday Terry saw Hector and Phillia. I think they are both RN. Hector was kind of over the top as he talked about Terry working to get better. Terry did not take that too kindly! He mentioned riding a bike like thing for up to 4 hours a day!!! Phillia is an RN who comes in to advise and help. As she and Terry talked back and forth the conversation got somewhat rocky but in the end it was good. I THINK she left in a good way.
The revolving door continues today as at 12:30 another medical person is coming and I think he said he is the overall person in charge of Terry's out patient care. I say I think as we have had 6 different medical people come so far! I am starting to think maybe I should have coffee and goodies available at all times!!!
I am not sure what I will do today. I did go to Home Depot yesterday and purchased material to make a ramp that would allow Terry to be about 5 inches higher as she gets into the car. I have not taken things out of the car yet so I MAY do that today. There is a group of guys who play tennis each Saturday at 9:00 and I may go play but am not sure.
