TERRY
Terry has blood work today at the Dr. office. I have tried to figure out an easy way to get her into the car but as of now I have come up with nothing. We will have her sit in the second row of seats as that darn front door gets in the way of getting her into the front seat. Dr. Costello, who wants to see her in 3 months ordered her to have the tests and then referred her to 3 other specialists so MAYBE she will see Terry in the near future too??? PT was in yesterday and she had Terry stand with her hands on the arms of the walker. Progress, not sure but the therapist was happy with how she did. I made a mistake last night. Terry often wants the blanket (electric) turned on when she gets into bed as she is often cold. Well I did not think to turn it off so at 11:30 PM she was way way too hot. We were up several times during the night so it may be a tiring day. We can go in for blood work anytime between 8-12 and I have not asked Terry when she would like to go.
I do not have anything planned for the day other than to care for Terry. I had thought I would get tennis in a couple of times this week but there has been too much happening so maybe next week. I have been on a couple of short bike rides.
I was happy with what Terry ate yesterday. For lunch she had a half slice of bread with tuna/pickles on it. She ate it all. I also bought some watermellon which is very good. She struggles with an appetite as she is usually not hungry. Yesterday she was very thirsty several times.
As I was trying to wake up this morning my thoughts went to family and then Dave. It is very different to think of family and then say it is only Joan, Helen and I now.
Thought I would put out one of my favorite pictures of Dave this morning. The granary struck me as never before. I would say this was a picture of Joan and Dave maybe in1950 or so and look at the granary! It looks like it is ready to come down and it stayed like that for the next 30 years until it came down in the farm fire! I would also say that those chickens look like they would be delicious for a fried chicken dinner! I would say that was about the time REA came in with power as one can see the pole. I wanted to say something about Dave but could not come up with the picture I wanted. But the story is this: When Dave made his guitar he put a tiny band around the edge of the top and he said it took him MANY MANY hours. When it came to making one for his daughter Lisa and then mine he decided to "spend" and he purchased a router bit for $40 (I think) and making the same groove for the tiny band took all of 10 minutes. In his work Dave was a master of detail and his work, when finished, always looks so so professional and perfect.
Enough for today. I am thinking I may fry some bacon to go along with eggs and hash browns. AND yes, the FP is right by my side and it it getting the day off to a great start!
