First Sunday in March and we head into Lent on Wednesday

Day 136, "Every picture has a story"

I assume that truck is for water, not gas!  Nothing like a cigarette while you watch the fire!
It was the summer of 1975.  We were visiting Grandma and Grandpa Saunders and the Lee Grandparents too but this day, August 7 we were in Cayuga.  We saw this orange tint in the eastern sky and then realized it was a fire.  Grandpa said it had to be the grain elevator as we could see it from 12 miles away.  We hopped in the car and drove to Lidgerwood.  The blaze was spectacular.  The boys asked all kinds of questions about the fire as they had never seen anything like it.
The next day we were in the house on farm while the John played outside.  Suddenly Grandma shouted, "there's a fire outside".  As we rushed outside there was John by the side of the house with a pail half full of water.  He had wanted to see more about fire so he found some matches and lite a bale  of hay on fire near the shed.  Well the hay happened to be near Grandma's clothes line and on the line was a pair of Grandpa's work pants.  They were in FULL blaze orange so to speak!!!  It did not take a whole lot to put out the fire but I doubt John could have done it with his pail.  Oh my there was some discipline (no details needed) and much talking to!  I do think John learned enough about fire that he did not need to experiment again.

The weekend is pretty low key.  Next week there are several things happening but for now it is relax time.  Sister Helen did a bad thing.  She sent me a picture of potato salad and made me hungry but the kind of good thing is I feel under the weather today so it wasn't too much of an urge!
Hard to believe that we are already into March and looking at the weather on my phone I see things like St. Paul -11, Cayuga -15, Jamestown -16 etc.  We certainly have been having some crazy weather this winter.

No I braved the stomach issue and had my FP.  It stayed down but I think I need to lie low today, to be more specific I am going to lie down for a while to see if I can get rid of this illness.
