Day 147, "Every picture has a story"
A picture from October of 2008. Perhaps I have used this before but the story is. The siding of the house above the story board was shingles. I am guessing they were as old as the house. They just would not hold paint. I painted and painted and it would hold for maybe 2 years or so and then the peeling would start. The house looked BAD. Finally I purchased Hardi-board shakes and we primed and painted them before they were put on the house. I purchased a pneumatic nailer, rented scaffolding and the work begin. IF I remember right I put up 1100 shakes which meant I used 3,300 nails. It was a LONG summer project but here I am as the last shake was nailed. For the record I do NOT smoke cigars but the occasion was special and I do not remember getting sick! That was 2008 and MUCH has been done since then. The house is a pit for work and money as one could guess of a 113 year old house. As time marches on I am beginning to enjoy wood working and other things MORE than house projects..........
I played tennis at 7:30 this morning and that is it until Monday. My body needs a rest. Terry had an appt today so we went to that but most of the day was spent reading and I did take couple of dips in the pool. Next week I will rap up the tennis team and also Terry and I will host maybe the last pool party of the season on Thursday.
I split my FP between pretennis and post tennis this morning.
