Day 144, "Every picture has a story"
This is Travis in 1973. We would usually put the play pen in the driveway and let him outside a lot. He certainly is a happy cutie guy. The boys loved to spend most of their time outside. When they got to be old enough to walk they would play for hours with their Tonka trucks on the sidewalk and in the sand box. I guess it would be correct to label them the "good old days"!
Not much today. I did get our taxes mailed this morning. It looks like a refund will be coming again which is nice. I also finished my book yesterday so I may need to go to the library to get some more. I did come across an interesting thing this morning. I went to write a check and found that I needed a new pad of check blanks. I thought to myself I just do not write many checks anymore. I remember back in the 70s and 80s ,which was before I started to use credit cards a lot ,I would get cancelled checks back from the bank and each month there would be 25, 30 or more. This morning as I took the carbon copy of the last 25 checks out of the check book I noticed that I had used 25 checks since June 15, 2018! That is less than 3 checks a month! Times change I guess.
I did play tennis this morning. Tomorrow is the 70+ league and Wednesday my team has it's last home match of the season. I am hopeful of winning 15 matches of the 30 we play this season. That will be a HUGE impovement over the 5 that we won last year. I will consider it a good season. Tomorrow I will not have 2 of my top 6 players and it is against the second place team so we may not fare so well but we will see. Everyone will be back for March 20th.
Even though it is well into the afternoon I have a cup of FP left which I will heat up and drink. A nice PM treat!
