Day 150, "Every picture has a story"
A fun project! I am not sure of the year, maybe 07 but I could check the quarter on the bottom to find out! Anyway Joel, leader of People of Praise in the Twin Cities at the time, asked me about building a lectern for our new building. We were moving in shortly after Christmas. We had been using an old one that was pretty much a box about 4 feet high. He said he would like one that was kind of open so the person behind it was not hidden. I drew up a plan and he liked it. It is built of quarter sawn red oak and has stood the test of time. BUT there was a concern. There was little or not place to place a bible or papers if the speaker wanted to use them. So
I make a matching table that one could set beside the lectern. It was a very fun project. Perhaps the most fun was being able to draw up the plans and then make it the way I wanted. The good thing is both pieces of furniture are used almost daily at the People of Praise building as well at Trinity School. Both have a quarter showing the date they were made. "For sure" they will almost be worth at least $.25!
A cool start to the week. When I step onto the court at 10:30 it will be 64 which is pretty nice for tennis. My only league match for the week is Wednesday and that will wrap up the season for league. It is kind of a light week but then what isn't when one is retired? Terry has an apt this afternoon as well as a couple of others as the week goes on. When I look at the calendar I realize we are not into the second half of March, wow. Before you know it one will need to shop for Christmas, well not really!
I still have a sip of FP so will enjoy that and then get ready for tennis.
