The cut in on the walls is done, walls to be done today!

Day 60, "Every picture has a story"
Here is what went on the bottom of our first tread on our new stairs.  I have, for several years, been putting a quarter on my wood projects.  As I have said in the past, my work will never be worthless!  Last winter Terry gave me a gift of a branding iron.  Now this is on the back of the tread so "made by" is not really true as the treads were ordered BUT I will install them so maybe it is OK.  I had to go to the bank to get the 2018 quarters.  The first bank did not have a roll of 2018 but I then went to Wings and they had 1.  I am now wondering when someone will find this quarter.  Maybe never as the stairs may outlast the house and then things will end up in a heap of dust.  Hope that does not happen but am sure it will not take place in my lifetime.  It is kind of cool that the 2018 quarter is of Voyageur National Park in MN. The ONLY national park in MN.

Yesterday was a day of up and down and drops of sweat on each of the temporary treads but the cutting in on the walls got done.  I plan to paint the walls after my bike ride and then will be ready to begin the process of putting in new treads and risers.  IF I can start them tomorrow my hope is they can be installed in total by the end of the week.  THEN paper comes off our floors upstairs and finishing touches can be put on touch up.  I would like to put in outlets in the north and west bedroom BUT.  I do have a live feed into the attic but to bring it down to the rooms may be a stretch even for this professional electrical!!!  It is OK to embellish on my blog I think.

I went to the community meeting last night.  It was all about Servant Camp 2018.  God always shows up in grand fashion there and so so many thought flooded my mind as I sat back and took in the sharing and the memories.  The one thought that stood out for me was things have changes so much and for the better.  I can remember the times when I almost had to beg for 15 minutes of time for camp sharing and now an entire meeting.  Of course that is the way it should be but for sure the memories of the past are seared into my mind.

I received a call from Mary S. yesterday and it sounds like Grandma Saunders is not doing well.  Al and Deb B think that the end of life is getting near for her.  Of course for many it will be a sad day when Grandma passes but really it is what she has desired for some time now so please God take her in your timing and give her peace.

Enough for now as I am going to get in a early bike ride and then finish my FP when I return.
