Day 53, "Every picture has a story"
Here is a small field of Dale Binde's wheat! In Deb's writing thank-you notes she included a few kernels of wheat. Well the long story is NONE germinated when it was planted and then Deb said she had taken the wheat from some in the basement that had been there for a long time. She got a pail of wheat seed from Dale's seed outside and it worked!!! Maybe, just maybe I will get some wheat that I can make into gum. Yes, we did that all the time during harvest when we were growing up. Actually our gum chewing probably cost Mom and Dad a lot of money! That's my story and I'm sticking to it!Three places to go today so the work may not get too far. Over to St. Louis Park, then to Richfield and then to the east side in St. Paul. The Richfield stop is to try and change our paint color. Don't know if we can but will try. We purchased it at Home Depot and I am not all that confident that the paint expert will be on duty. We will see but Terry says there is blue in the color and we want it to be a soft gray. I say, "Terry says" because I would just put it on the wall and then say look, we have fresh paint and it looks so nice. I would not have a clue as to if it was the right color or not!
I did get the skirt board going upstairs sanded and primed yesterday. BUT now it looks like the smart thing to do is paint ALL the woodwork before the walls are done. That darn Terry always wants to do things in the correct order and I say to myself, "At my age should I really start to do things in the right order?"?' Well everyone knows the answer to that so I stand changed.
The house to our west is being resided and it will now look modern. It was built in the early 60s and the siding told you in a big bold way. I am not sure what all they are doing but there has been a dumpster in their driveway for well over 2 months and it looks like it is not near finished.
My omelet of potatoes, bacon, olives and eggs is well on its way to giving me the energy I need for the day so I think a bike ride is on deck NOW. Wait, I need to finish my FP first.
