I admit I was not dressed for a picture and the young lady with me was but pretend I am not in the picture and focus on Amy. Yesterday there was knock on the door and there was Amy, a person I had never met. She introduced herself as Amy, Tom and Thelma Ruth's granddaughter!!! Gail and I purchased the house in 1977 from the Ruths. Terry and I had just had a conversation about trying to contact someone in the Ruth family as we had done some work this summer on the history of my house. Amy was delightful and it was so so fun talking, showing her the house and yard and hearing what she knew regarding the house. She lives in Chicago but comes to the Twin Cities every 2 or 3 months for business. We learned some about Tom and Thelma and also about the Ruth family. It was such a fun visit and such a surprise. I really did not get to know Tom very well as we just had some interaction with him and Thelma as we purchased the house BUT what little I knew about him I think Amy is a lot like her grandpa. Amy said she will come to the cities before we leave for Florida and she will bring some pictures that I can copy. A FUN FUN AFTERNOON AND ONE OF THE BEST SURPRISES I HAVE HAD IN A LONG TIME.
Terry put the coat of sealer on the treads yesterday so today and tomorrow the clear coat goes on. After that they are ready to be put down BUT that will not happen for a few days. I need to put in glue blocks, clean up the sideboard, paint it and then also paint the walls and ceiling before the stairs go down. It would be a shame to get primer or paint on the new maple treads so they go in AFTER all the painting is done.
I may have had a senior moment yesterday. There are times I just get so disappointed that I run out of energy so early in the day. Terry say it is still somewhat related to the major surgery on my leg 6 months ago. I don't not believe her but REALLY does this body take so so long to regenerate? If I get up at 5:30 and get breakfast, blog and a bike ride in by 8:00 I am ready to go. BUT, working not all that hard, I run out of steam by mid afternoon. We have a vacuum that runs by itself so when we start it the darn thing will work for about 25 minutes or so and then it returns to it's base. Well I am beginning to think I my be just like that vacuum. After a few hours of what I call work I need to return to some kind of base to get more energy. At this point I refuse to admit that could mean a nap!!! Perhaps once a week or so I will nap BUT I still think I am not old enough for that. Anyway poor me I am not getting enough done. It certainly is a good thing I do not need to work at a job.
Enough for this morning. I think I heard the FP calling my name along with eggs, ham and harsh browns. Maybe, just maybe, I don't have the needed energy because I eat too much. I will have to think about that. I am positive that it is not related to my FP.
