Day 63, "Every picture has a story"
My story today is not actually about this cat even tho I think this cat deserves a story. As I rode my bike today this cat was having a great time watching people as they pass by. I am guessing the owner asked the cat to watch the house. My story is about the cats we had on the farm. We had MANY cats. They were big, little, friendly, not so friendly and then there were the feral cats that came around to actually eat the babies we had. My most fun time with cats, (I really am a dog guy) were the babies and then the cats at milking time. I also was very good to the cats as I always would take the blackbirds that I shot with my 22 and bring them to the the cats so they could eat! Anyway this "watch cat" reminded me of the farm cats.
I had a good time bringing Jude's birthday present to him yesterday. Those Adkins kids are funny. Veronica had to show off her sporty sunglasses. Agatha had to compare her blue eyes to mind and she claimed she won BUT I think I won! Jude had to try on his new Carhart pants, belt and shirt. Before I left he had a hammer in the pants and he said he wants to be a carpenter when he grows up!!! That is a bit different from the "Pope" dream some time ago. AND Leo had big smiles for Grandpa.
We have only 13 days of August left and then we are into September. The lawn is starting to look a little dry dry and the trees are showing a tiny bit of fall.
We watched our pro tennis player Phil play in the championship match yesterday. It was not his day as he and his partner were out played and over matched in a loss. I think they would have won against their opponent 3 out of 5 times but yesterday, NO. We will see him and his pro wife Myke in about 7 weeks.
I have begun rebuilding the stairs and all I have to say is it will be a work in progress for some time. I will post a picture when they are finished but that may be some time!!!
It is Sunday PM so my FP is a non issue. I did get on my bike this morning and managed to get in 12+ miles. I found a bike path that led into Fort Snelling State Park and I did not know it was there. Kind of fun. I rode it about 8:30 and met several young women running. I thought I am not sure it is a good idea for young women to be running alone on a stretch of bike path that is fairly secluded.
No, it is Sunday PM so I am about finished.
