TERRY
As I write it is 11:30 and all is quiet except for the vacuum going. I shut Terry's door so it would not disturb her and here I am at the computer. I would say Terry is the same.
I am pretty sure the Adkins with 6 of their kids will soon grace the front door. They had the new AIRBNB to themselves last night at the South Bend Lees hit the road yesterday. Wait, Travis is there yet. I think they will stick around Naples for two more days and then head back to the north country where the weather is just a tad different than here. My phone claims St. Paul is -8 currently and will get up to +8 as the day goes on. A little different than here!!! I do not know what they have planned for the two days but I do know that Cynthia has a 24 pd turkey brining in the fridge so that looks like dinner to me.
I did some clean up this morning. Mary did lefse yesterday before they left and then Cynthia did another batch in the evening. I felt badly as I should have told Mary NO and they could have gotten on the road sooner but I did not think of it. I am guessing that when the Adkins show up the lefse may just disappear so I did put TWO in safe keeping!!!😏. I also have this dozen eggs that Liam gave me from HIS hens but they are "hands off" as I will enjoy them later in the week.
I was delighted yesterday as I brought out the Chinese Checker board that I had made a few years ago and the kids got into it which was wonderful to see. I gave each of the families a board but it looks like they may be in safe storage and not used as the kids did not know the rules. I SHOULD HAVE MENTIONED THAT MY RULE IS I HAVE TO WIN AS I AM OLD AND WILL CRY IF I LOSE!!! I am afraid to let them play too much as I am sure they will be able to beat me if they play very long. A funny story is my Grandma Lee had a metal board and uncle Henry lived with her. Henry would often ask me to play with him when I stayed with Grandma. By the time I got to the 7th grade I was able to beat Henry and he stopped playing with me. NOW I understand!!!
Not a whole lot to say today. I did spend time in the kitchen cleaning as the Adkins left kind of late last night and the kitchen was not cleaned. I also spent time folding a LOT of clothes from the washer and dryer and now have new loads in. It seems that with many in the house the clothes pile up and up and up!
No, here it is approaching noon and I am guessing the kids will show up soon. I will sign off on this sunny first Sunday of 2022 and see if there is more things to do before the house is FULL of activity! I did enjoy my second day of 2022 with FP and it was delicious. I am already bracing for Wednesday as Travis and the Adkins will leave and this house is going to feel like a ghost house with an eerie silence that makes one feel lonely and alone! Anyway come what may I am hoping that 2022 is full of peace, fun and prosperity for all.
SOME PICTURES TO REMIND US HOW MUCH FUN FLORIDA IS!!!
