Here we are at the first weekday day of the year!

 TERRY

As I write Terry is reading the Naples paper in bed.  She has the TV on with news airing throughout the house.  I would say she is doing about the same.  Yes, one day at a time.

Here it is almost 9:00 AM.  I am scheduled to play tennis at 10:30 but I do not know IF it will be a go.  We did get rain last night and the 7:30 courts were cancelled but I have not heard about the 9:00 or 10:30.  I guess as is the case in life, wait and see!

It is pretty quiet in the house again.  Cynthia and family are in the AIRBNB as is Travis so for the nighttime it was only US.  I think they are planning to go on a tram ride in the Everglades today so will be gone much of the day.  As for Terry and I we have NO plans.  I guess I could plan out our life for the coming year but I am not into that yet!!!

As I looked at pictures I found the contrast of MANY years ago to now interesting.

I would say there is a world of difference in the farm boy from North Dakota who loved to lie on the roof of the barn and dream to the guy who often considers the highlight of the day the 90 minutes he spends on the tennis court!  Just so you know I hated the bib overalls.  Why?  Because I never saw Dad wear them!

I would say the BIG thing for Terry and I for the coming weeks will be her exercises as for now there is no OT or PT coming so it is up to us.  I will try hard to help her get in physical exercise each day.  That sounds kind of easy but really it is not.

I am thinking I need to get some help in soon.  I plan to check into it next week after life settles down to the normal again.  I do not think I am lazy but cooking, cleaning and much more is kind of taking a toll.

It has been more than fun to have grandkids around over the last several days.  It was sad to see John and family leave a couple days ago but now we still have Cynthia and family for some time over the next two days.  When they leave it will be VERY quiet and yes, a bit lonesome.  I am positive that when they are here I see that interesting Veronica right by my side OFTEN!!!

Many times in the past I have made resolutions for the new year but this year not so much.  Actually I do have one and will share that down the road but not now.  However other than that one I will take one day at a time and see what God has in store for us this year.

Mike and Cynthia purchased a used VAN on Saturday.  I think it is a Nissan and maybe a 12 passenger with all seats having headrests etc.  Not the old kind where large vans just had bench seats.  I did not ask him how many miles it has on it but it looks very nice.  They do have a large van in MN and I think they will sell that.  I think Mike, like his dad, is kind of a car guy.  AND I am thinking Jude and Ben already know more about cars than Grandpa!  I guess that means Cynthia and some of the kids will fly out on Wednesday and Mike and maybe one or two of the kids will drive back.

Our neighbors, whom we share a wall with, are moving this week I think.  That means we will have new neighbors soon.

I enjoyed my first "farm fresh egg" this morning.  The ones farmer Liam gave me.

My Mom would be proud of me using an old fashion iron skillet to fry my farm fresh egg!  I promise you my breakfast was delicious.

I got a text from Cynthia this morning as she and Mike went on an early morning walk.  I think the rain was about to arrive over the Gulf waters.  I do think they got wet.

Well I think that is about it for this morning.  I do not know when we will see the Adkins but it may not be this morning.  I still have some FP left so will enjoy it to the last drop and then find out if tennis is on for 10:30 or if the rain won.
