Day 110, "Every picture has a story"
We went and in Terry's words, "It wasn't the best but OK". She may have used different words but that is close to what she said. As for me I feel I am a bit more cultured after seeing the play BUT it was FAR from my favorite as I may call it Less Miserable and seldom have I been less! It was 3 hours with about a 20 minute break. There were about 20 songs and interspersed in with the songs were about 10 spoken words. Well maybe more than that but really all the duologue was in song, kind of. We were towards the back and the entire stage was, most of the time, not lite much so one could hardly see the faces. But here is the deal. If/when I meet someone and the conversation comes up about what I have been doing I will "for sure" mention that I attended Les Miserables. I am sure that will get their attention and of course that is SO important to me!!!
So today is on to other things like fun on the court. Before I get to that Terry and I were at home alone for the super bowl yesterday. I thought back to the super bowl parties in the Twin cities that John Mouw would yearly put on. I wonder if he took his party book to Arizona? We watched the first half and then turned on a movie. I did read about it in the paper. A side note that is interesting. Mickey Mantle signed the first ever $100,000 contract in 1963. In 1957 he signed for $60,000 and he said never did he think he would ever make that much money! Yesterday the Ram players got paid $59,000 for losing the game while New England players got the winning check of $118,000. That is ONE game compared to 154 games Mickey played in 1963. I guess times have changed a bit.
As I write this morning Terry is off to a meeting and soon I will be off to the courts.
We have the return of normal temps here as it is supposed to get up to 75 today which may be around normal for this time of the year. Eighty when I play tomorrow and 81 when I play on Wednesday.
It is so so nice to have the roof finished. No more loud footsteps over head and no more dumpster blocking the driveway. With the sun and heat here it is always nice to have the car in the garage.
So we begin the first full week of the shortest month of the year. Oh my before I know it I will be writing down things that need to be done in St. Paul. I know that is 3+ months off BUT time goes so fast. As always the FP was great but it is gone so time to close.
