Day 108, "Every picture has a story"
September 12, 2004

September 7, 2007

I answered an ad in the paper about Golden Doodles.  We had been without a dog for some time and it was time to get another.  On September 12 Gail, Henry and I drove south to Ellendale MN where they advertised dogs for $400.  They had their first shots and were chipped.  I can not find a picture of Wallace when he was little but he was a ball of fur and so cute.  On the way home we stopped in a park and Henry and I enjoyed the slide.  Wallace turned out to be the smartest dog we ever had.  He also was the most spoiled as he, the first ever Lee dog, got to enjoy the indoors.  One morning I got up extra early and as I opened the bedroom door I thought I heard something.  At the bottom of the stairs, as I placed my bare foot on the rug, I felt it was warm.  Wallace knew he was to stay by the back door but of course he was really wanting to be close to us so he slept at the bottom of the stairs.  When he heard me open the door he hurried back to his spot only to be caught!  Another really goofy story was one morning he was nowhere to be found.  Well he must have gotten out of the fenced yard and went for a walk.  We looked high and low by driving around the neighborhood but he was nowhere to be found.  Later in the morning I heard this sound in the basement and there he was locked in his crate.  Of course he did not do that to himself!  End of that story.  Another time we got a call and this voice asked if we had a white large dog.  I said yes and then the person said he saw this dog and stopped to see if it was just wandering.  He opened the car door and Wallace  jumped in!  We had our phone number on a tag around his neck.  He would get out of the fenced in back yard and then go around to the front of the house and want to get in!  Wallace, you sure gave us many memories.

It looks like our roof is finally done as they took the dumpster away yesterday and we were able to get our car in the garage last night.  I think they worked for 2 weeks but it seems like they did a great job.  Now all we need to do is make the final payment!  Our car had been sitting outside for the last 2 weeks so what happened last night?  The car is in the garage and it starts to rain.  I backed it out and let it sit in the rain for a while.  Then I drove it in again and wiped it off as it was covered with dust from the work being done on the roof.  In the dark I do not think I did a very good job of wiping it down but for sure it will be better than being so dusty before the rain.

I am playing tennis this morning at 10:30.  I usually do not play Saturdays but will today.  The team mate I play with Wednesday is playing so we probably will play together this morning.

I think it is time to get some work done on the taxes.  Now that we are into February all of the tax papers are supposed to be here so I will spent time next week looking at things and trying to get everything buttoned up.  There is one small item that always comes late and it is not here yet so maybe it will be a while but most of the work can be done.

I went to the library and got some books yesterday.  I had been without books for some time.  Terry and I have this book lecture again on the 16th and we do not yet have the book.  I am hoping it is an easy read as we may only have 10 days or so for both of us to read it when we get it.

My breakfast this morning was FP as I HAVE to cut down on my eating.  Will see how I play at 10:30 on kind of an empty stomach.  Enough
