The second Friday of February in 2019

Day 114, "Every picture had a story"

The date was August 5th, 2014.  Terry and I had gotten a camping spot in Denali National Park the day before.  We would be camping for 4 days.  With no plans in place we headed out to the visitor center about 9:00.  Terry packed a lunch as we did not know what we would be doing.  When we arrived at the park we found out that a trip into the park was leaving in a short time.  For $30 per person we felt it was worthwhile to take in.  The bus would take us in 30 miles with stops along the way.  The driver said there was a good chance we would see wildlife but it did not always happen.  Well as one can see we saw plenty.  In addition to these we saw Dahl sheep far off.  It was certainly a trip worth taking and a lot of fun.  The bear, I was able to capture this shot with my 300m lens as the bear was fairly close to the road.  We had NO thought that we should get out of the bus!

I think I will enjoy the temp of 59 here in Naples.  As I looked at my phone family spots were: St. Paul -10, South Bend 10, Madison -1, Holiday Island 9, Rapid City -8, Sandy 13, Jamestown -24, Mesa 37.  Oh my I think winter is far from over.

I played tennis from 7:30 to 10:30 yesterday.  I think it took me the rest of the day to recover.  I did start another of the "no brainer" books that are fun to read as one does not have to think about them!  I will finish it today.  Terry had an appointment yesterday and that was about it for the day.  Not much more on the agenda for today.  I almost forgot.  I received a belated birthday present in the mail yesterday.  John and family sent a package of lefsa and it is VERY good.  I will have to watch myself so I do not eat it all today!

I am finished with my bacon, eggs and potatoes and am almost finished with the FP so it is probably time to sign off.  Maybe I will shave before I read as Terry, a few days ago, accused me of looking like Gabby Hayes.  At first I thought she was making a comment about my demeanor but she was actually talking about my stubble on the face.  I mean, in retirement, why would one have to shave everyday?  Last sip of FP and I am gone.
