 TERRY

As I write I THINK Terry may be half sleeping and half awake.  There is nothing new on her health but for this coming week we will drive to water therapy 4 times so it will be interesting to see how that goes.  I think a couple of those times are PT but the therapist said they would be in the water.  Here is hoping that speeds her recovery big time.

Today is the start of a cool down in terms of weather.  It will be a high of 77 today and then in the low to mid 70s until Saturday when we are looking at a high of 68.  This coming week will be kind of busy as I will play tennis five days and perhaps 6 days and coupling that with Terry's therapy we will be "busy" in the retirement mode!

Here are Travis and Cynthia in 1982.  We took a 5 week camping trip with Grandma and Grandpa Saunders.  We had their motor home and pulled their S10 pickup.  This was perhaps our first stop on the long trip and it was at a picnic area in Wisconsin.  A funny thing happened just as we left St. Paul in the camper.  Travis had this tiny hand held game where you would move a small ball around a maze under the plastic.  Grandpa was driving and told Travis to put it away and look at things as we drove!!!  From there we went up into Canada and came down through Niagara Falls.  Camped there in a NO camping area so we got kicked out at 6 AM!  From there we headed down to Washington DC.  I had made arrangements to stay in a house just outside the beltway that belonged to neighbors in St. Paul.  The first day we arrived we did mostly walking downtown as we took in certain buildings.  We felt it was very warm.  When we arrived back at the house and turned on the news it said they had a record temp that day of 97!  No wonder we were warm. One of the interesting things we did was visit the senate building.  Grandpa wanted to see Milton Young's office.  He was one of the two senators from North Dakota.  At that time he was the most senior senator so his office was the largest office space.  Grandpa thought it was pretty neat that little North Dakota had the largest office in the senate building.  Young served in the senate for 36 years and at the time was the most senior senator.  We stayed for 4 days and took in many of the Washington DC sights.  One day we took the tram just to experience it!  Another day we drove and a friend of ours had told us how to park.  She said arrive in downtown about 8:40 AM and park in a no parking zone that opens at 9::00 for parking.  So we found a great place, parked, put our flashers on and sat there until 9:00 and then plugged the meter and went on our way.  From Washington we drove to Disney World in Orlando where I had purchased 3 day tickets.  Way back then an adult 3 day ticket was like $35.  We had been collecting cans and recycling them for 2 years for our trip.  Today it is over $100 per day!  We then headed west along the gulf coast and the headed back home through St. Louis and took in the Arch.  A long long trip that had its ups and downs but was VERY good.  We usually had 4 adults and two kids sleep in the camper and then two kids sleep in the back of the pickup which had a cover over it.
No, here it is 8:00 AM and time to sign off.  When I finish my FP and Terry wakes up I may take a short bike ride as I have not done that for a while.
