TERRY
Terry has been sleeping much today. As I write it is 5:00 and she is awake and watching TV. I would say she is doing OK.
It has been an uneventful day. I played tennis at 9:00 this morning. On Saturdays we reserve two courts and whoever shows up plays. We play 4 games and then the losers stay and switch partners and the winners go to the other court and switch partners. I actually played well today as I had 4 different playing partners and we won each time. Monday it will be back to the normal kind of tennis that goes on Monday-Friday.
I have Joan/Ron on my mind today. They have their big 60th party 7:00 eastern time. Sister Helen is there so she will have to be the "Lee" there. I am sure she will do a good job. Terry actually asked me if I wanted to get on a plane this morning and get out there. In the worst way I wanted to do that but I just did not think it was the right thing to do so here I am in Naples.
Joan, in my mind, perhaps the had the best mix of Mom and Dad in her DNA!
- She was strong in what she believed and what she did
- She and Ron had lived all their married life in Fargo. When a son needed help in Utah they gathered things and moved and at that time they were Not spring chickens but they did it for family.
- I think perhaps her grandmothering skills and great grandmothering skills are beyond any other, even our Mom
- Joan is a gal who gets things done, always
- Joan is a gal who in spite of good and bad she is there for family
- She is one to make changes when they need to be made
- and more and more and more
