Second Wednesday in December 2020

TERRY

And another day and Terry is about the same.  She has not been out of the house for some time and maybe that is a good thing as this covid is pretty darn scary.  I try to be VERY carful when I return home after being out.  She does get out tomorrow as she will finally have the 30 day evaluation for water therapy.  AND I was very happy as I made a dr appointment with Dr. Parent who is a hand and wrist specialist.  He can see her for her finger Monday PM.  That finger that is broken just does not seem right.  Dr. Parent is the one who did wrist surgery on my right wrist when it was broken and I would say he is one of the best.  So Monday it is.

I had tennis at 9:00 this morning and we had a good time.  The two teams were pretty darn even so it was a lot of fun.  AND I might add that it was with guys who are at least, if not better than I, so that is always a plus.

I had a "night for memories" last night.  Son John sent a link where one can watch the Trinity basketball games so I got to watch Henry play live!  I was disappointed as you could watch the game fine but the score board was not in the picture.  I could tell that Trinity won but it would have been nice to see the score.  John sent a text this morning and said that Henry had a triple double.  That means that he had steals, points and rebounds in double figures.  Impressive for a junior or I would say impressive for any player regardless of the year.  As I watched on the computer it brought back memories of high school and of the four kids playing in high school.  It even brought back memories of my bus rides after basketball but I will not get into that!  It does not seem possible that a grandson could be playing varsity BB but then IF I think how old I am I guess yes it does seem possible.  I thought about the 100s of miles I rode the bus in the winter then and also the 1000s of miles I drove to see John, Travis, Aaron and Cynthia play basketball.  Oh my how time flies when you are having fun I guess!

Not much else today.  We have gotten a few Christmas cards and it is still early so they may be coming more as the days go by.  I got a couple of things in the mail yesterday related to Christmas and with that I am almost done.  I do have a few things in the freezer that need to go out in a week or so and Terry's cards with gifts need to be mailed early next week.  They are all ready to go but some may need a little extra postage.

I was able to finish my FP before I left for tennis today and maybe that is the reason I played kind of good!  I do not have any plans for the rest of the day but of course there is plenty to do around her.  Terry and I still need to make a decision about in home care.  It is so nice to have it BUT it is so difficult to have things for her to do over the 4 hours.  AND it just seems to be money to the wind when you have to pay someone for 4 hours and you have maybe less than 2 hours of work.  I guess like so many other things we will take it one day at a time.  ENOUGH

Here are the guys on the varsity team my senior year and the gals who were cheerleaders.  Terry is on the left in the front and I am #35 in the top picture.  We actually had a good year but bombed in the district tournament which was a sad way to end my high school athlete days.  Well we lost our first game in the tournament but did go on to win our next two for 5th place so it could have been worse I guess.  The cheerleaders and the players rode on the team bus and then there were usually two fan buses that went also but they left later as the "A" team and "B" team were on the players bus and the fan did not need to get there so early.  I would say that I was and am pretty lucky as for the most part my high school days were very fun.  I know many can not say that so I am thankful.  Should I have done some things differently in high school, yes for sure but that does not negate the positive of the 4 years.  I did look in the year book and our record was 11-9 but we played some schools that were a lot bigger than us.  Schools like Shanley in Fargo, Wahpeton and Lisbon.  In the conference were were 12-4.  Anyway that was then and now is now.  Much of this came about today after watching Henry play last night.  It was fun for sure.
Enough for today as I know I can think of several things that need doing!
