Wednesday and another league match

Four are still on a 2.5 team, two have moved and two are not playing anymore

Well the 70+ team lost all three courts yesterday which, of course, means George and I came out on the short end 3-6 and 3-6.  No need to explain but as I always say, "You win as a team and you lose as a team".

Today is a new day and it is MY team playing at home.  As I have said we are playing the better of the two Citrus Park teams.  They have won 67% of their matches and we have won 60% so it should be fun.   IF I could put my best team on the court I would use ALL three of the guys who are not available today so that really makes things interesting.  It is what it is so we will see what happens.  I know I have said this before BUT if you are on the court and playing you are a winner!

The Naples paper has perhaps the worst sports section in the world BUT there was an interesting article today.  Dallas Keuchel was on the Houston team that won the World Series in 2017.  He is a pitcher with a 95 mph fast ball.  He is a new member of the Chicago White Sox.  He wanted to encourage people to get to know each other so he arranged a dinner for ALL the players, office people etc.  There were 125 in all.  The team said it was a wonderful thing and he paid for the entire evening to the tune of $25,000!!!  That comes out to around $200 per person.  Oh, his salary is $55.5 million for 3 years so it probably is pocket change for him!  When Terry and I went out with Norma and Wayne I thought the bill was kind of a lot at $120 but I guess I live in a different world so to speak.  As I write this I know that Norma sometimes reads my blog so Norma, just so you know, IF the bill would have been twice that I would have not complained because you two are so special!  I may have forgotten to mention that Wayne brought venison sausage when they came so they can come ANYTIME!

Most of my day will be taken up with tennis as our match is at home.  I need to put drinks in the cooler, get the balls in the car and make out the lineup.  Our match is at 1:30 so I will leave the house at 12:40 to make sure I get things in order at the courts before Citrus Park comes.  I know, it should not take up most of my day but it does!  Time flies as after today we have only 2 matches in league left.

We have 80s today and tomorrow and then it will be in the 70s for a couple of days.  I do know what I will do, win or lose on the court, when I get home from tennis.  It will be a nice dip in the pool.

Enough for this morning.  I am going to bike over to the courts for a bit.  My FP is gone.
