Life has started to become a bit normal here in St. Paul.
I made a trip to the compost yesterday, stopped to drop off some clothes and then made a purchase at Menard's. In the afternoon I mowed the lawn and then got SOME order in my wood shop. By mid afternoon I was done for the day. That is "done" in terms of energy, not work!
This morning I will put some spot weed killer down and get some more order in the shop. Of course each day there is watering the garden etc. Now that we have plants on the east side of the driveway I am at a loss as to where to put the recycle and garbage bins. Big problem, right???
Oh I should say I have been able to get some bike rides in on Bentley, my super fine bike. It is so so much fun to ride but I have yet to get in anything close to a serious ride. With my out of shape body I would say a "serious" ride would be maybe 10-13 miles and yesterday I put on 4.5 miles. Maybe in another week or so. I need more exercise, less weight and more time. Not sure that makes any sense but that is it.
As I rode a bit yesterday I took note of the fact that yesterday was the last day of school in St. Paul. That makes it official, I have been retired, I did not say tired, 11 years. I am now at the point of really not missing any part of teaching. There was a time where I really missed the kids but that is in the past. This coming August will be the 8th Servant Camp since I headed it. That seems almost impossible but it is true. The last 2 summers we have visited it for a short while and it has not changed much, still God centered and a great place for young people to meet Jesus.
Terry and I will watch the Belmont race today to see if Justify and finish in front to claim the triple crown. This 1 1/2 mile race is often the down fall of the triple crown.
No it is outside to get some things done and while I do that I will continue to savor the last few drops of my FP.
