The last Monday of June is upon us.

Day 12, "Every picture has a story"
This home was owned by some friends for several years and then it was sold.  At one point I did some painting for them.  The guy who owns it now taught the boys at Highland Catholic.  One very snowy stormy day we were trying to get newspapers out and the going was very difficult.  As we came to this house Ken came out and offered to help us delivery some papers.  This was a snow day for a teacher and also EARLY in the morning, maybe 6 or so.  I mean we are friends but not close.  AND out of the blue he asked if he could help.  We gave him about 20 papers and a list.  I am thinking that from my estimate of 2,059,150 papers that we delivered I need to subtract 20!!!  It is a time that sticks in my mind because it was unusual and such an act of kindness when nothing was expected or deserved.
Travis and I went out for breakfast yesterday which I always enjoy.  He is quite the guy.  Yesterday one of his questions while he was talking with Terry and I was if a child is raised by 2 women what do they do on Father's Day as the child had to have a father?  The same would be true for a child raised by two men and the question of Mother's Day would come up.
I have been a dud in terms of these fans as there may be an issue of support in the ceiling and also the new modern electric fans may not be so easy to connect to a 112 year old system!
I had a "surprise" and and shot in the arm this weekend.  John asked about my chain saw.  I used it to cut down several trees but it has sat unused for at least 10 years.  John said if it worked he would buy it.  Well I put fresh 1/50 gas-oil in it and with about the 6th pull it roared to life. I was kind of surprised but then not really.  Regardless it was a fun experience and now John can take it and use it.  I think he will pick it up mid July.  I had told him he could take it but IF he could not get it started just to get rid of it.  Well I think it was in the $400-$500 range when I bought it.  Why did I buy it? Well it was a matter of hiring someone to cut down several trees, rent a saw for I do not know how much or buy the saw and do it myself.  Well my MOA is usually to buy something rather than pay 80% of the cost to rent.  Why not?  It will be nice to get it out of our storage shed.
