Day 10 "Every picture has a story"
Highland Senior High put in tennis courts several years ago and used much green space that the junior high had used for years. Pictured is where I had many many soccer practices after school. I coached both boys and girls at different times. I could tell many stories of what happened during those practices. One year I had these 2 brothers on the team. They were NOT good players but nice kids and they worked hard. Did they improve? VERY little. But what was unusual about them is their names which were Joe1 and Joe2. It was even stranger when the next fall I was going over the names of kids in my sign language class and there was a Joe3. On the practice field I just went by 1 or 2!
If anybody reads this blog I have a question for you. Have you ever felt like you were on a beginning softball team and the protocol was SLOW pitch. You got up to bat and wow a ball came in so fast you could not even see it, just hear it!!! Well that happened to me yesterday, not in softball but in life. It may take me all day to get out of my daze.
I thought I would do something different this morning so I took my tennis bag and went to the courts near home at about 6 AM. Just to practice my serve a bit:
- The first ball I tossed I missed!
- The second ball I tossed went into the wrong court.
- The third bounced, not in the serve area, and disappeared through a crack in the gate.
- After I chased it down I served the other way and guess what, the ball went through another gate and across the road.
- After a short while a lady with a dog came into the park and the dog was upset because it could not get a ball through the fence so I hit one to him!
- I took the last 2 balls and drove home!
I am going to open up my guitar this morning and I suppose something strange will happen then too.
No my FP is gone and I have not had breakfast so will close. But still in a daze.
