TERRY
Terry is the same. She is currently reading the paper as she rests in bed. nothing planned today so it will be the normal of rest and TV.
As I sit at the computer this morning I am tempted to go stand in the driveway BUT I think it would not be advised! We have a nice soft rain with temps in the mid 70s so it would almost be like a nice soothing shower but I will restrain myself from the luxury of it. Instead I will write a bit, drink from my favorite cup a bit and enjoy the FP to the last drop. AND if John M happens to read it this morning I still think FP beats Folgers hands down!!!
I did get some good ideas from the WSJ today. There was an article on redoing a room so I am thinking I need to get myself to St. Paul and redo the living room kind of like the article! I am going to have to scramble as I will have to dig deep and come up with some scam to afford it just like the article but it could be done and IF I can do that certainly it would be a WOW when people came to visit.
I guess the first thing I need to do is go to the bank and see if my signature is good for a loan of $185,000 and if that works I am good to go. I mean this looks like a slam dunk in terms of value. The carpet is a bargain at $51,000!!! Well I will need to talk to Terry and see if she is aboard?? I think I know what her answer will be. I guess it is all for a good laugh as in the Friday WSJ there is always a section on the rich and famous and most of the time I get a chuckle out of it. Wow, what I could do with $186,000 to the house in St. Paul would be wonderful and I promise it would NOT look like this!!!
I feel this is going to be my lucky day. Why? Well I failed to get the garbage and recycle out last night as I just did not think of it. Well as I dragged myself out of bed very late, 8:10, the garbage came to mind and wow it had not gone yet. I got it to the curb and about 5 minutes later the truck came by. So I am sure the day will be just like that, good.
It looks like this is gong to be one of those days that a person should stay inside and get some work done or read a book. Yes, the book idea sounds good. Actually I know what I will do today but it is not important so will not say.
So this is it for today. I did just come from the kitchen with a full cup of FP so maybe I should stay at the desk for a while. I did have a nice conversation with sister Joan yesterday as it was her birthday. I called in the evening and I suspected she and Ron would be out celebrating but I was in luck as she was home and free. It sounds like their celebration next month for their 60th will be fun and sister Helen is going to spend an entire week there, nice. When those two get together you never know what is going to happen. As I write that here is a funny story about Joan:
The time was around 1957 or so. Mom and Dad had gone to camera club as they did every month. AND as was often the case the kitchen was kind of a mess with dirty dishes. I say that and it is nothing about Mom but mostly about us kids. I do not know if Joan had orders from Mom or if it was Joan's idea but she said we were going to get the dishes done. Now here is the deal. It was not really hard work BUT we had NO sink in the kitchen so when dishes were done you had to heat the water, fill a large pan with hot water and do the dishes on the kitchen table. So big sister Joan said the dishes had to be done and she would wash and Dave and I would dry them. And guess what? Joan said we would make a game out of it! She would assign a value to each dish that needed drying. BUT she would only tell us when we were finished what the values were but Dave and I were to just dry the dishes to see who could earn the most points. Well the plot thickens here as anyone would know sister Joan was trying to scam us to get the dishes done. AND sure enough when all was done she announced that Dave and I had the same amount of points!!! What the heck did anyone ever believe that could happen??? Well she got her way. The dishes got done and when Mom arrived home she was happy! I am guessing Joan got the credit but then who was counting?
Time to sign off and see if I should do any work.
