TERRY
Terry is doing about the same today. So far she has spent the day in bed but will be going to and from the living room this afternoon. I am guessing No wheelchair today. She is in good spirits and that is good but then that is usual too.
I tried to make a treat this morning and made deviled eggs. The eggs were almost impossible to peel and I really did do them the right way. Must have come from some stubborn chickens! Anyway I got them finished but they did NOT turn out so great. Now what do I do with a dozen eggs that are waiting to be eaten but.
We woke up to pretty cool temps for here. At 6:45 when I looked at the temp it showed 49. I am NOT complaining but that is chilly for here.
No tennis today as it is Saturday and I have not been playing on Saturdays for some time. I thought I needed a rest and my lower back is bothering me. Well as I thought about it I am doing something wrong when I assist Terry in and out of bed. Somehow I need to change the way I do things.
With Easter almost here it brings back many memories of the past. Such as:
- The time when we lived in Devils Lake and there was a storm the week before Easter. Some of the kids did not get home on a Friday so some of us volunteered to have them stay with us until their parents could come which we thought would be Saturday. Kevin came to our house and NEVER did hear from his parents so he was with us the entire week! I don't know why I remember this but the thing that sticks in my mind is he ALWAYS had a runny nose!!!
- Of course we always used to color eggs for Easter. The kids loved it and Mom did not mind cleaning up the mess after they were finished!
- When the kids were small most of the time we would take the week before Easter to visit grand parents both on the farm and in Cayuga.
- It was always a challenge to hide Easter baskets in a way that the kids had to look and look for them but for the most part we were successful.
- I still can taste the cream potatoes that Mom would make and often we would have a ham that Dad had won in a trap shoot.
- Of course it was always a wish and a hope that Glorine/Ronald or Janet/John or Joan/Ron would come visit for Easter when I was in grade school and high school. Sometimes our wish came true. I remember Ronald ALWAYS had something in mind for Dave and I to do with him. FUN
