Maybe tennis today!

 TERRY

There is nothing new for Terry.  In my opinion she is getting somewhat stronger.  She will have water therapy tomorrow and I am hopeful that she will like it and it will be helpful.  Her spirits remain pretty UP which I am thankful for and amazed at the same time.  It now has become "normal" for her when she goes from the bedroom to the living room to walk with the aid of the walker.  While lying on her back on the couch she also did some leg exercises.  Actually she (we) forgot to have her stand and sit several times yesterday.  She needs to do that while sitting on a chair not the couch.  Today for sure.

Our neighbors are sometimes too good.  Yesterday I received a text asking if we wanted some steak, rice and veggies.  The day before we received a large container of homemade paste sauce and a box of paste.  Our fridge is getting too full.  Terry does eat but she never has been a big eater.  Our "in home" care person made a delicious meal yesterday and we have enough left over for meal two.  Somewhere this eating has to be reduced but it is all so good!!!
I think I may have to go get a shot in my back.  I have not had to do that for at least a couple of years.  I am having pain and some numbness in my lower left leg and foot.  Not yet but soon I will have to take a week or so off tennis and get that done IF it does not improve.

From page 115 of my book I read "Big boxes and old clothes".  Aunt Ragna, who lived in California, would from time to time send big boxes of clothes.  I have no idea where she got things but when the box would come it was a big deal.  I would always hope that there would be nice socks that would fit.  If I could find a pair in the box that would mean I would not have to wear socks that were hand me downs from Ronald and were too big.  What does one do with a sock that is an inch or so too long?  Well you are right, you fold it over and then walk up hill all day--kinda!  My all time favorite clothes item was a white pullover shirt with some red stripes running across the front.  That became my little league baseball shirt.  I am sure it was the reason I hit the winning home run against Forman.  I mean Forman was four times as big as Cayuga but we won in the last inning all because of my shirt--it gave me power!!!  I do not remember all the kinds of clothes that came but I promise pretty much every item was used.  Other than the too big socks the second least favorite item was shoes.  Oh my as I think about it they may have been worst than the socks.  I had on an old pair of California tennis shoes when Dave and I took boxing lessions in Lidgerwood.  In my mind my sagging socks and old tennis shoes were the worst of all the boys.  I remember the Brecken boys, who were sons of the instructor, had nice new shoes and shorts that looked almost professional.  BUT I was champion of my weight class so I guess looks did not count!

After tennis this morning I think I will drive to Target.  Terry said they have Butterball turkeys on sale for $.99 a pound and Target brand turkeys for $.79 a pound.  For the $.20 cent difference I will go for the Butterball.  I guess there is a limit of two and Terry said she would like THREE.  What in the world would we do with three 15 pound turkeys?  Well Terry is a bit smarter than I when it comes to bargains.

No here it is almost 7:00 and tennis is at 7:30 this morning.  I am thinking that we did not get any rain over night so the courts are good to go.  I did go over there last night and amazing the courts were ready for play and that was after there had been about 1.5" of rain in the last 24 hours.  So IF there was no rain over night and my phone shows nothing it will be a go for playing if this darn left leg cooperates.

I think it will be my FP only before 7:30 as that should be enough get up and go for the match!
