TERRY
My title today refers to Terry. She had a 40 minute water therapy session yesterday where she did very well including using the noddle to venture into the deep end for a time. When we arrived home she said she was tired. She wanted to be in the living room for the evening. We almost always watch a couple of shows from 7:00-8:00 and then it is back into the bedroom. So at 8:00 I thought I would be pro-active and I asked her IF she wanted to use the walker to get into the bedroom. I expected a "not really" after her therapy in the afternoon. Well I was shocked when she said YES. I asked again as I wanted to be sure and the answer was the same. So she grabbed onto the walked and said, "I may need some help in standing". Well she really did not so off we go from the living room to the bedroom which is about 40 feet AND without the wheelchair behind and NO belt around her waist. NOW I would say that is progress. It made my day for sure. We have to be sure and remember to do some of the things the therapy people have asked her to do and when we do I am now thinking by Thanksgiving she MAY be able to walk a short distance with a cane--MAYBE. One day at a time for sure.
Something tells me age is creeping up on me. A year from now Travis will be 50! Then two years after that it will be Aaron's turn and Cynthia, well she is 7 years behind Aaron! AND I should add that John achieved that milestone last year. I am not sure if I want to figure out where that puts me! All I have to say is when I was preteen I looked at adults that were at the age that I am now and thought they were OLD. Well I bring it up as my left leg has been just so so painful especially when I am lying down trying to get to sleep. I actually took two pain pills that we had and finally after about a half hour I was able to get to sleep. Stop, enough feeling sorry for myself and be thankful for my health and long life.
There is nothing special about this except I have not seen a photo of mine that does this!!! Taken in South Bend a few years ago as the family got together after Christmas. Watching it makes me NOT want to go swimming!
Well I think this is it for now. There is that round robin tennis with some of the guys at 9:00 every Saturday so I will take that in. I think I need to go out and about for a short time today but that will be PM. I will enjoy the last few sips of my FP and then get ready for tennis.
