We continue our HOT weather with really no relief in sight.

TERRY
I called Terry this morning and as I suspected she was a bit down.  Here we are at July 5th, a Sunday, and there is NO activity at her rehab center.  Well of course there is the staff but no rehab yesterday because of the holiday and nothing today because it is Sunday.  So there she is lying in bed with the only thing to do is watch TV.  We talked for a while and will talk again this afternoon.  Yesterday she said she thinks she is at a level where she will be.  I hope with all hope that she is wrong and I said I feel she will recover so that she can walk again.  I know it will take a lot of work but I know she can do it.

I had a wonderful conversation with Rich W yesterday.  While growing up on the farm Rick's family had a farm right on the lake.  He was a year younger than brother Dave.  We spent many many afternoons playing ball against our corn crib and then against his barn.  After Rick graduated we did not connect again until yesterday.  Rick's mom Eleanor was a great person and often as I walked across there yard towards the place I would fish she would invite me in for cookies.  Rick's brother Wayne who is 15 years older than Rick was very successful in the business world.  Rick said he is 90 today and very near the end of his life.  Wayne was kind of a hero as he came back from spending time in the service and visited us with his convertible MG in a green color.  At the age of 7 or so thought he had the world by the tail!  Rick lives in SD and has done well with his life.  He said he loves to hunt and fish so he is holding up the ND tradition.  It was so fun to talk and I am hoping we can get together sometime in the future.

John/Mary and family will be coming through here any time now on their way back to South Bend.  They will caravan back as Travis is giving them his car that he has pretty much gotten in great shape. There is a big dent in the side but then who cares?

I think the dog days of summer are here big time.  It looks like 90s for the next many days.  I would like to keep the garden going so will water it daily and the lawn?  Well watering it only keeps it alive but I will try to do that.

No plans for the day.  I thought I would be nice and make an upside down rhubarb cake for whoever and guess what?  It flopped big time and went into the garbage.  Try again, not sure!

I had an "old test" today and I failed.  I brought the guest bedroom AC unit down and put it in the kitchen.  I did get it done BUT coming down the sixteen steps I felt kind of weak and IF I had fallen it would have been lights out in many ways.  I did NOT fall but I thought to myself I think I am not as strong and agile as I used to be.  When it is time to bring it back upstairs I may get some help!

I did have my FP this morning and now, at 10:30 am kind of ready for some down time.
