A warm week is winding down

TERRY
Terry got the tube out of her nose and now has a feeding tube in her stomach.  I was not able to get her on her phone last night but I called the nurse in the afternoon and she said it went very well.  I will not be able to visit her today as I head to North Dakota for 36 hours.  I will try to phone her around noon.  She is scheduled to be transferred from 5th floor to 4th floor this morning.  That means she goes from acute rehab to transitional rehab.  I am thankful that she will be able to stay with the University setting as she gets better.  I did get a call from the social worker in charge of her new floor and she said she would contact me today as Terry gets settled.

I am heading to Jamestown this morning to get a couple of things that Dave had.  Marlys was good enough to give them to me.  One item was given to Dave by brother Ronald so that is special and the other was given to him by Dad.

We had a great meal with the Madison Lees and the Adkins yesterday.  Faustina, age 12, made a birthday cake for 2 year old John Paul.  So everyone enjoyed hotdogs, burgers, home made potato salad, home grown lettuce and to top it off Aaron/Amy brought the old Lee ice cream maker and we all had home churned ice cream.  Those darn kids are just growing up.  Leo is getting close to being Grandpa's height and all the rest seem to be not far behind.  Of course from the South Bend Lees there is Liam and Henry who are now taller so the next time we all get together and have a picture I am going to request a box to stand on!

My first cucumber from the garden and a quarter to show the size

Grandpa made an executive decision that kids eat outside so the adults could visit and enjoy the AC  in the house.  Wisdom comes with age!!!

Here is Faustina cranking the ice cream while Aaron holds it down.  AND there was always a willing worker to crank next!

Not much left as the evening wore on.

The birthday cake that Faustina made for John Paul WITH raspberries from the back yard.

Of course every birthday has to have a "blowing out" time.  As you can see some are looking into the sun.  There you have all ten of the Madison and South St Paul grandchildren.

That is about it for this morning.  I meet Larry B for breakfast at 7 and head out after that.  Will stay over night with Mary and Mark on the farm and get back home tomorrow.  A quick trip.

It really is hard to believe that we are already into July.  As I look at the temp today and for the next 9 we are expected to have 90s EVERYDAY.  It looks like a hot summer ahead for us.  I need to get out and water the garden this morning and then ask Travis to do it tomorrow.  The lawn will be good for a while as that 3.3" of rain should hold up for a week or so.

I will make some FP to take on the road and may pass on coffee at breakfast this morning with Larry.  Don't want to have to make too many pit stops on the way!

Will get back to the blog when I return tomorrow afternoon.
