Starting the first week of December 2019--2020 we are coming!

We are now ready.  The manger scene, the tiny tree, the Christmas cards, Advent wreath and more are ready for the occasion.  Each day draws us closer to His birthday.  As the next few weeks go by maybe we need to make some fudge, some cookies and lefsa(in my dreams only) and then Christmas will be a success in terms of social etc.  The most important part, JESUS, needs to be in our soul each day with a renewed vigor that will let friends and family know that Jesus is the reason for the season.

In my world of retirement our week looks kind of busy!  Twenty years ago if I had looked at a week like the one we start today I would say, "Wow, not much going on this week!"  In the FUN department I have tennis each day through Friday.  For the first time I am going to do boccie this afternoon.  I am subbing for someone.  I think it is with a bunch of old guys.  Not sure I will fit in but that may be only wishful thinking.  I will drive to the courts for my 9:00-10:30 morning match.  From there I will go to the post office to mail the 2020 calendars.  It will be nice to get them out of the house and to mark one thing off as finished.  I still could slap myself for having to make up for my lapse of memory in writing some of the notes but then it is what it is.

I need to start on a mini weight loss thing this week.  That darn turkey, dressing etc from last Thursday somehow found it's way on to this old body so start I did today.  Only one egg, only 1 1/2 pieces of bacon and then some ripe olives, a bit of cheddar cheese and a topping of salsa was on the breakfast table.  NO bread, only one egg and half the bacon should help a tiny bit.  If I can multiple that times 5 by the end of tennis on Friday I should be kind of back where I started last Wednesday.  Then it will be take it kind of slow but really there needs to be some more pounds taken off.  If I could just convince myself that you eat when you are hungry and not just because it tastes so good.  Actually when I look at pictures of myself when I was 1,2,3  and maybe up to first or second grade I say maybe God intended me to be a bit over weight!!!

FP is only half finished but it is now almost time to hit the courts so the remainder will be reheated about 10:15 or so.
