It was NOT the "good old days"

Day 55, "Every picture has a story"
The year was 2012 and I had made up my mind that at the age of 67 I was not all that excited about climbing on the ladder to the second story of my home to take down storms in the spring and then put up screens.  Then reverse the operation in the fall and take down the screens and put up the storms.  At that time, since 1977,  I had been up on the ladder 66 times to put up screens or storms.  There are 8 windows that required the ladder and another 20 that needed the changes but a ladder was not required.  It took not only changing them but each time windows or storms had to be cleaned.  The first step was to get the second floor windows replaced with tilt out windows that could be cleaned from in side and also had double glass which meant NO storms needed.  Over the next few years windows were taken out and new put in until last January Joe H. put in the last of the new ones.  NOW no storms and no screens to put on.  As for the cleaning, well I am not promising that they always get cleaned in a timely manner but when it does happen, NO ladder.

Terry and I were invited over to Carmen and Betty's yesterday for conversation and snacks in the afternoon.  They have a home in Michigan but spend winters here.  We always have a grand time when we get together and yesterday was no exception.  In their professional lives they both were in politics's and were on the conservative side so Terry and the two of them ALWAYS have a lot to talk about.  They are 10+ years older than us but do very well for their age.

I was on top of my game on the court today.  Tomorrow I will play at 7:30 with a group of guys who are high 3.0 or 3.5 level players so that should be fun.  It is the group that is so hard to break in to and I am guessing that they are short of players tomorrow as many go north for the holidays.  I will try to make the best of it!

Our Christmas cards are printed so now all we need to do is stuff, stamp and address.  I have the addresses printed out so it should go pretty fast.  A few will get notes but most will not.

As one can guess, at this time of day, the FP is only a distant thought but "for sure" this morning it was very good.
