December 10th, we are well on our way to Christmas

Day 58, "Every picture has a story"
It has been some time since I had made fudge.  Terry is having a "ladies only" party next week so here is a treat for that BUT that is not the story of the picture.  Way way back Grandpa Saunders tinkered with a recipe of fudge until he got it where he wanted.  From that I took lessons as to how to make it.  I usually made it for Thanksgiving and Christmas.  THEN the BIG event loomed large, Cynthia and Mike's wedding.  I do not remember how it happened BUT some how it was decided (did I volunteer?) that there should be fudge at each table for the wedding reception.  Well the guest list looked LONG and that meant the tables were many.  The wedding was to be October 20th so pretty much for the month of October I spent kitchen time making fudge.  Twenty+ batches later I was finished and in time for the big day.  It seems to me that fudge was a tiny part of the wedding BUT it was a hit.  If I remember brother Dave walked around before he left to make sure that any fudge that was left did not go to waste!  Now, 12 years later, it still is a favorite item at any party.  A side note is I did NOT make fudge for some time after the wedding.

The big thing for me this week is the fall tennis season comes to a close Wednesday.  There have been 2 teams from our club this fall with my team being what you may call the "A" team and the other team being "B".  Well to be clear they should not have been in the 3.0 league as they have lost ALL matches but the up side is they have played against better players and have gained from it.  So of course that means that we had better win ALL three matches Wednesday.  If we don't it will not be the end of the world but it may be close!!!

I play at 7:30 this morning so will get dressed and bike over.  I have asked the club pro if it would be possible for the club kitchen to make goodies for us Wednesday.  I have never asked before but being the last match and a Tarpon Cove vs Tarpon Cove it would be fun to have a something better than Bud light and small packets of chips!  To be clear, I will not drink Bud Light but then the other team is "home" so what they serve is what we get if the kitchen does not come through!

I was up early and finished my FP hours ago so will sign off and get dressed.
