TERRY
There is nothing new about Terry today and I am guessing it will be that way for some time. Her mode of living is to:
- read the paper while in bed
- turn on the TV for a time
- get up and use the walker to get to the living room
- stay in the living room for a time and then walk back to the bedroom
- She may repeat that a few times a day
She is mostly in good spirits and her love of TV is paying off big time now when she is pretty much confined to the bed. We have yet to venture outside with the wheelchair or walker but may try that at some time. I would like her to be able to exercise in the pool but that is still down for repair. I am hoping it will be fixed this week. So it is one day at a time with no change in sight for a while. Her next doctor appointment is in 3+ weeks so until that time it is kind of same old, same old.
I do not have plans for the day except to get out to Costco for a bit. I am not that excited to get out at all as I have this on when I am walking any distance. It does help with the pain level when I walk but it is certainly not all that exciting!
The foot is still quit swollen and I try to keep it elevated when I am in bed or sitting. I have NO idea as to how long this is going to go on but I do not see any short term healing for now.
We are kind of in for SUMMER weather here. As I look at the weather forecast we are going to see 90s for the next while! Yikes, not sure I am ready for Naples summer weather but then I guess I have no choice as here it comes.
I think I need to go to the post office as it looks like our mail started going to St. Paul. Not sure why but I need to take care of that. I don't want to miss out on that million dollar check we are expecting!!! Well I was expecting it tomorrow but is seems like I have been in that mode for about 50 years now so I may just give up! One a serious side I am expecting to get out taxes so that we can sign them and send them in so I need to contact them and make sure they are not sent by USPS as they may end up in MN. Life tends to be so interesting!
As I look at the court times today I see there are two open courts at 7:30 and again at 10:30 with all 6 courts full at 9:00. That says people are starting to leave for up north.
DAKOTA ATTITUDE
"I was dating a gal who lived near Gackle, He says. And they had a routine. I used to go out to see her every Friday and Sunday nights. I was a junior in high school when I started to go with her. When I arrived at her place, she would jump into the car and hug and kiss me and say how she was glad to see me.
On TUESDAY evening, after three years of going together, the song "I'm in the mood for Love" was playing on his car radio. I drove to her farm, and my girlfriend came to the door. She said, How come you are here tonight? Isn't this the wrong night? I didn't say anything. I just switched on the car, didn't say anything, and drove away. Just let her stand there." I went into town to see my friend Reuben. He knew of two girls who were teaching in the country. We went out for a date and when I walked her to the door and kissed her good night she said you can come out any time! That was my future wife Lillian."
I think that is about enough for this morning. I just remembered that I need to go to the post office as our mail has started to go to Minnesota for some reason so I need to change that.
I also need to stop at Costco for some things so will do that while Sonia is here. I really do not want to go out as it is not all that good to walk with this darn boot but will go just to get some things done. I am finished with the FP and Sonia will be here in a few minutes so best to get going.
