TERRY
There is no change for Terry today. As I blog she is in bed reading the Sunday paper. Today the paper was huge so she will be reading for some time.
We do not celebrate Mother's Day as it just does not seem like it fits in with us. I, as everyone can see, am NOT a mother and Terry will most likely get calls from her kids so that is that. I should say that Gail was a wonderful mother as are my three daughter in laws so enough said about that.
My foot is still healing, I think. I am not sure really what I did to it but it seems fine unless I turn my foot to the side and then it hurts. I am guessing time will heal but HOW much time?
I am going to continue to get some things does today. A few days ago I decided to do a 100% work on our papers and filing system. So I am into that. It is always a guess when we travel to and from Minnesota and Florida what to bring and what to leave at each place. Well I THINK I have things figured out so there will be a trip to the store for two more small filing boxes and then I will be ready to go forward with order. I probably should not use the word "order" as order in my life is something to desire but often is NOT there! Maybe now that I am in my 70s I can change. On the other hand I probably would not place a bet on it!
I will read some more in the DAKOTA ATTITUDE book and most likely quote some here.
I am going to make a meal today. Sonia did not come on Friday so we have a meal to be made yet in the fridge so it needs to be made today. Usually she makes them on Tu, Wed, Thr but she skipped Thursday as I think that was the national taco day and she made tacos. So it is time to make the last one.
I did make another batch of fudge for Terry. She loves the fudge and so I like to have it available for her. Well I kind of like it too!
DAKOTA ATTITUDE
"On wash day, you had the washboard. If you didn't have no wringer, you had to wring it out by hand. And the white clothes we always boiled with lye to keep it white. Always washed the clothes twice. Even after I was married I did that. We always had something to eat. I never had money. I went and worked for neighbors, and then I had a little few cents. It was only about $3 a week or something. That's a lot of money. I got to keep it. she laughs. I stayed there overnight. Somethings two weeks at a time. I'd wash the walls and clean house."
"In Grandville, the couple settled in a "chicken house" on Bud's folks farm. It was really not a chicken house, it was a two story home that Bud's dad had turned into a chicken house. So we cleaned it out good. It was really a nice little house, but cold as the dickens in the wintertime."
Well here it is a bit past 9:00 and time to sign off. I should really go on a short bike ride but not sure. I am on my last cup of FP so time to do something.
