A day that changed MANY lives

 TERRY

I have nothing new to report about Terry as I think I wrote after her doctor appointment yesterday.  As I write she is sleeping I THINK as I have not heard anything from the bedroom.  I am hoping that we can be energetic this weekend and do exercises that will help in her journey back to walking again.

The title refers to Ronald.  Fifty-six years ago he left us.  I had a football game on Friday night and as I rode the bus home from Edgley I was bummed out as our team was struggling big time but little did I know that when I woke up the next day, Saturday, and greeted Mom and Dad as they returned from the hospital in Fargo my disappointment with football would seem tiny compared to the next few days.  It was a devastating thing in our family as well as many others.  By so many friends and Glorine as well he was simply known as Red.  He was 11 years older than I and to me he was Ronald.  I think of him as a renaissance man.  He was a scholar, a builder, a thinker etc etc.  To me he was the "big brother" who I loved and admired so so much.  When he came home to visit the house came alive.  When we visited him in college it seemed that he was popular among his peers and everyone loved Ronald or Red!  I thnk of him as a man's man.  At times when I sit with a cup of FP and "remember" my mind goes to Ronald and I wonder what he would have accomplished in life and what he would be like today at the age of 84.  I even wonder, at times, if he would approve of me how I have lived my life.  It is interesting for me as I mourned Janet, Mom and Dad but really my brothers Ronald and Dave are the most difficiult for me.  For Ronald it was the older brother who, to me, seemed to do no wrong and for Dave it was the person I spent the most time with and the one who was my peer.

Terry woke up and is now watching TV.  I am going to bike over to the courts around 9:00 to see if they are playable and IF the guys who play on Saturday are there.  IF so I will stay and play a bit.

Terry and I have no certain plans for the weekend.  It seemed like this past week went fast as Terry had appointments etc.  I look forward to see what the coming week brings.

My first cup of FP is gone and I will sign off before I get my second.  Our weather in Naples has changed a lot.  As I write it is 72 and it is supposed to be a high of 82 today which is 10-14 degrees cooler than we have been having.  IF the courts are playable it should be a nice time to play.
