Back in St. Paul
For sure the highlights of our 2 week trip were the 3 parks as they were the reason for going. That makes 59 and a year ago I would have said we have visited them all BUT in February of this year TWO were added. The arch in St. Louis is now a national park and the sand dunes on the shore of Lake Michigan is a park as well SO we will be sure and visit them sometime in the future. However I would say visiting the 59 is a wonderful experience as they go from north in Alaska to south of Key West and then from Maine to southern California. The parks are just a very wonderful experience and I would encourage everyone, who can, to visit as many as possible.
IF there are people who read this blog on a regular bases I would say hang on as things may get more than a little bit boring over the next many days. I took many pictures and will post a lot of them.
Over the last 2 weeks we have spent about 29 hours in the air and about 10 hours in airports. For sure, that was NOT the highlights of our trip. We left Honolulu at noon yesterday, spent 3 hours in the LAX airport and arrived in St. Paul shortly after 5 this morning. A first, we took Uber home. I think it was better than a taxi.
I had the experience of making my own food this morning! Coming off a week on a cruise I had almost forgot how to fry eggs!
Both Terry and I took naps this morning as she slept very little on the plane and I slept not at all. I think it will be early to bed tonight and then maybe I will be good to go tomorrow. There are MANY projects staring me in the face here in St. Paul and I would like to win the war of staring so have to get going tomorrow.
We came away from our trip saying we are not the biggest fans of cruises and it may be some time before we venture on another or maybe never, we will see.
Travis took great care of our place when we were gone as we came home to a mowed lawn and the raspberries have been picked. The garden, well it is kind of a jungle so will look it over tomorrow and see what has happened.
Weather looks like it is supposed to be fairly warm over the next many days which reminds me we are in the middle of summer.
Enough for now. There will be MANY pictures in the coming days. I did have my FP when we arrived home so I think I am on the right track.
