It is almost that time of year. When the air is crisp, the corn turns yellow and then the corn crib is filled with cobs. After the corn is picked Dad will let the cows out into the corn field to salvage the cobs that are on the ground. A wonderful time of year on the farm. As I look at this picture I am not so sure about my clothes. It may be the best Mom could do but really that hat is crazy and the shoes, they look like I could be the third generation to wear them! I know, many kids in the world have NO shoes so I had many blessings. At least it was not cold enough to have Mom force me to put the ear laps down! Actually it certainly looks like I am having fun. I am trying to figure out where this picture was taken. I think it is in the front yard with the background looking north towards Berts.
Oh my the rains continue to come. Yesterday we received 1.3". I looked at the rain gauge this morning at 6 and we had .3" over night and it has been raining since so I am thinking the lawns and trees are getting a good soaking leading up to winter. I know, it is only September 12th but the weather says winter is not that far away. We should hit 80s early week but then it is down to the 60s again by next Saturday.
I say this again, kind of a busy day for a retired guy! Terry has a dental appt at 10 and while she is at that I need to run an errand. I THINK I have an appt for a car aliment this afternoon but I have to check to make sure.
As I look out the window and see the water running down the street I THINK a bike ride is NOT in order this morning. In the distance I hear thunder and I can see lightening so I think clear skies are a long way off!
I will sign off for now and finish my FP.
