Here is the shark tooth that I found on the beach about 2 weeks ago. Each time we go for a walk on the beach I look, sometimes more than others. I should have put something in the photo so one could see the size. However I can now tell any size and people will not know the difference!! Actually it is about the size of a dime. I used my macro lens so that is why I could get such a closeup.
Terry and I went to the neurosurgeon yesterday to consult with him about my situation that landed me in the hospital January 30. The most important thing to come out of it was the Dr. said with 100% certainty that I did NOT HAVE A STROKE. He said during the winter months he sees maybe 2 or 3 of my cases. It is called a transient global amnesia. He said if he were to ask several Dr. what causes them he would get several different answers. The really good news is they seldom happen a second time and there is no after affects from them. The Dr. said if I had just not felt very good and gone to bed I would have woke up fine and that would have been the end of it. However I would have not remembered much of those few hours and of course that would have bothered me so now we did the tests and have answers so all is good. The really fun part is I now have a CD of my brain and it looks great!!! The part of the brain that shrinks when one gets dementia has not shrunk so I have no excuse for not remembering things or no excuse for doing goofy things. The short of it is I am normal. I know there are many people who still question that but I now have medical proof. Actually I told Terry when I was in the hospital I felt good would come out of my stay and that has happened. For some time now I have questioned if my arteries were OK and if my heart is OK and I have the answer now, they are fine. All at the expense of Medicare and supplemental insurance, how about that. Who said turning 65 is a downer?
We are enjoying a relaxing weekend. We so enjoyed company the last three weekends but it is also nice to sit back, read the paper, grab a book and sip that french press coffee in the morning without worry or the hustle and bustle of friends. We are so excited to pick up Aaron/Amy/Leo and Ruby next Sunday(not tomorrow) and then be able to spend some time with them during the week. There is also a chance that Terry's daughter, Kim and 3 of her children will come next Friday and stay for a time. Kim's husband is a pilot so they can fly any time IF THERE ARE OPEN SEATS which in this day and age is a big IF. So we will wait and see but are hopeful they will be able to fly down as that would be so much fun.
This past week we took in our 4th book review which was the best yet. The book was THE WEIRED SISTERS and the author was at the book review. It was very fun. The book is written in the first person and she changes from sister to sister. I enjoyed the book a lot. We have been able to check out all the books from the library but this book just was too popular so we purchased it. The author is at Barnes and Nobles this afternoon signing the book so we may go down and have her sign it. The Barnes and Noble store near us at one time was the largest in the nation. Not sure it is now but it is big.
There is a bit of a cool down today and tomorrow. The temps have been in the 80s but today and tomorrow it may be low 70s or high 60s. I will not complain.
I am into my old habits, the french press coffee is down to the last drop.
