A blast from the past

Grandpa helping his oldest grand child Esther with that darn loose tooth
Well there was NO work done yesterday.  Door hardware is sitting all over the house and I did not lift a finger to put any time into it.  Why, well I just get so wrapped up in this dang tennis.  We had our second winter match and it was at home.  Huntington came in with a 5-4 record and to me it looked like we were in for a struggle.  BUT my court 3 players came through after a first set tie breaker, my court 2 team prevailed 6-4 and 6-4 and so the last match was court 1.  Karl and I went up 3-0 in the first set but then derailed as Dennis, the opponent, caught fire and propelled his team to a first set victory 6-4.  In our league it is the best of 3 but if it comes to a 1-1 score the third set is a 10 point tie breaker which means losing the first set guaranties a tie breaker if you are going to win the match.  Karl and I regrouped and came back in the second set 6-1 so we were facing a 10 point tie breaker for the match.  Those darn tie breakers are often heart breakers but yesterday it was FUN with a 10-4 win.  So we came away with victories on all 3 courts and I had a happy team.  It was fun as 5 of the team, who did not play, came to watch and a couple of the wives.  It is always fun to hear the cheers from the sidelines.  But today is a new day and it needs to be work on the doors, go to Costco and get burgers for the pool party tomorrow BUT all that needs to happen after 7:30 tennis this morning.
