No picture today. Here it is almost 9:15 PM and I can not have my FP coffee at this time of day so I had a DIPA ale, very good!
Terry and I attended a new church, for us, today. It is called "Our Saviors" which I think was the name of our little country church or maybe that was the Veblen church. Anyway it is a Lutheran church and quit small. Some friends from WI go there so we thought we would give it a try. We have had a terrible time finding a church we like here.
When I heard the pastor sound like a Norwegian I thought we may be in the right place! It was a nice experience even though it was not the kind of Lutheran Church I grew up in.
My tennis team is finished for the season. It was a fun time but oh my we did not do as well as I had hoped, thought and planned. We still had fun. Terry and I put on an end of the year party Thursday and it was a great time. Terry made her homemade beans and potato salad and everyone loved it. I was able to get some nice door prizes and I think everyone was happy. NEXT YEAR, I am not sure what I will do. I am torn between no team, an A and B team and just a A team that would be smaller and better. I have to let things settle a bit before I decide.
The winter flew by and now we are into spring. Two months from today we will be in GA at Terry's grand daughter's HS graduation. We think it will then be on to Maine and then to MN. That is 2 months away but every time I turn around it seems a week or more has gone.
I am not playing tennis every day now, perhaps a bit too often but still not 6 days a week. AND my back has been fine. Is it healed, for sure not but if I can be pain free that would be great. I have a second appt with a neurosurgeon Tuesday so it will be interesting to see what he has to say.
Before we know it we will be into April, hard to believe. I was thinking today, as I drank my FP, how the time seemed to stand still way way back when! It is hard to believe that in the 50's every month had at least 50 or 60 days. I don't understand why they changed things??? If I remember right there was at least two months between Thanksgiving and Christmas and now it seems there are only a few days. Perhaps we can blame it on the government or maybe I do not remember right.
No, it is time to sign off for the night.
Our Saviors was in Veblen. I had a great weekend with Aaron, Amy, Leo and Ruby! What a fun time. Those kids are very active and quite inquisitive! The weather wasn't as warm as it had been but we managed to do a few fun things. Turpentine Creek where they rescue animals was fun. The kids enjoyed seeing all the large tigers, lions, ligers and all else. There was a large bear with really long claws! Leo was paying attention as he asked a good question of the trolley tour guide. I introduced A & A to some local beer and they brought me a taste of Wisconsin. Hated to see them leave but then the trade off is my house is quiet again!:) Happy to hear your back isn't hurting. Take care. Love Helen
