Dave and Marlys, 50 years together on September 17th |
An eventful day, in a negative way, yesterday. It was Wednesday so I decided to take a large pile of tree branches out to the compost yard. Terry had worked hard the day before cleaning the back yard from the storm that went through when we were away. There was a tree in our neighbor's yard that was hanging over and made it difficult to mow so I thought it would be a good idea to cut several branches off and take them out as well. The first three went well BUT on the fourth the saw slipped, it is a saw that you would use to cut a christmas tree down with, and the large jagged blade ripped into my left arm. I glanced down and saw beyond the layer of fatty tissue and thought, this is not good!!! About 4 1/2 hours later Terry and I returned home and despite the Tdap shot and stitches I felt kind of okay! There was no damage to the muscles, if there are any left, and it did not go into the bone so I guess I should be happy having only a sore arm for a day or so. We were in such a hurry to get to the clinic that we forgot our phones so much to Terry's dismay, we were not able to take a picture of the cavern in my arm! No need for a picture when we arrived home as it was neatly stitched and looked fine.
No, it is time to do the breakfast dishes, for some yard work this morning and then some catch up on other things. That darn arm, can't work too hard. The FP, there is one shallow left and there it goes.
